Job summary

Keystone Engineering Inc. seeks an experienced E&I Designer to join our Nassau Bay team. The role focuses on drafting, design drawings, and ensuring adherence to client standards and project guidelines. Occasional site visits may be required as part of project coordination.

As a key member of the design group, you will produce detailed drawings, support the project team, and guide drafters to ensure timely, quality deliverables while aligning with schedule and budget considerations.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 5–10 years of experience in E&I drafting and design.
  • Experience with facilities drawings, cable routing, and panel design.

Responsibilities

  • Understands drafting requirements for his/her discipline.
  • Adapt to Client Drafting Standards and Specifications which apply to his/her discipline for assigned project.
  • Prepare detailed design drawings within his/her discipline per project requirements.
  • Provide guidance to drafters and coordinate with Lead Designer for timely deliverables.
  • Maintain a Job Data Book with pertinent project information for the discipline.
  • Review drawings for completeness, quality, and adherence to standards.

Keystone Engineering is currently seeking experienced E&I Designers to join our Nassau Bay team.

Position Type: Full Time

Travel Requirements:Occasional site visits required

Essential Functions:

  • Understands drafting requirements for his/her discipline.
  • Adapt to Client Drafting Standards and Specifications which apply to his/her discipline for assigned project.
  • Understands the designs for any system within his/her discipline once design guidelines and system criteria have been established.
  • Responsible for the constructability, operability, and maintainability of the design within his/her discipline for assigned project.
  • Provides comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective technical input into design related to his/her discipline for assigned project.
  • Responsible for the preparation of detailed design drawings within his/her discipline, in accordance with engineering design, required as project deliverables.
  • Provides continual guidance to drafters within his/her discipline for assigned project.
  • Communicates and coordinates with Lead Designer for respective discipline to promote smooth, accurate, and scheduled completion of deliverables.
  • Maintains and keeps organizes a Job Data Book which contains all the pertinent information used during the design for his/her discipline for assigned project.
  • Reviews drawings within his/her discipline for assigned project on a regular basis for completeness, overall quality, and adherence to standards.
  • Ensures all drawings within his/her discipline for assigned project have been properly checked and backchecked.
  • Prepares and/or directs the preparation of final drawing plots and copies for transmittal relative to all project deliverables.
  • Possesses an awareness of project schedule and budget.
  • Assists with Project Audits when required.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 5 - 10 years experience
  • Understands facilities drawings, cable routing, details, cable tray routing, cable schedules, motor starter schematics, I/O list, panel design, wiring diagrams and schematics.
