Job summary

Keystone Engineering Inc. is seeking an onsite Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Designer for a Geismar, LA area facility. You will provide design and drafting support for plant capital projects, focusing on electrical/instrumentation/control systems and construction-pack content.

The role requires 3–10 years of plant facility or consulting experience, AutoCAD proficiency, and a current TWIC card. Travel is occasional; work is performed on site with the Capital Projects Team.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited AS/BS in Drafting preferred.
• 3–10 years in plant facility assignments or consulting engineering office.
• Fundamental understanding of electrical/instrumentation systems for industrial apps.
• Current TWIC Card required.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Work onsite within a Capital Projects Team at a client facility in the Geismar, LA area.
• Provide design/drafting on electrical/instrumentation/control system capital projects.
• Prepare drawing packages for construction and field teams.
• Collaborate with engineers and other designers to align project scope.
• Generate accurate design packages using AutoCAD and annotate project visuals.
• Support field monitoring and safety practices during construction.

Keystone Engineering is currently seeking an E&I Designer for an Onsite Position in the Geismar Area.

Essential Functions:

• Work onsite within a Capital Projects Team at a client facility in the Geismar, LA. Area
• Provide design/drafting on a wide variety of electrical/instrumentation/control system plant capital projects.
• Work within a design team responsible for the execution of engineering and design packages to be issued for construction
• Work with plant staff, engineers, and other disciplines to develop drawing package content necessary for successful installations
• Assist project engineering, discipline engineers, and other designers with E/I deliverables.
• Perform necessary field research and conduct communications with stakeholders on projects.
• Assist with MOC's and other PSM related updates.
• Generate accurate and representative design packages using AutoCAD
• Annotate photographs using PDF Editing software for project illustration purposes.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines to align with the overall project scope
• Follow all client standards and project execution procedures
• Assist with field monitoring and coordination of projects during construction.
• Promote safety in all aspects of involvement

Requirements:

• AS/BS in Drafting from an ABET-accredited program (Preferred).
• Additional Field Technician experience is also of great value toward base credentials
• 3-10 years of experience in plant facility assignments and/or consulting engineering office positions
• Fundamental understanding of electrical/instrumentation systems and installation details for industrial applications.
• Ability to make field trips and participate in project meetings
• Basic computer skills in addition to hands-on experience with AutoCAD.
• Current TWIC Card needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated, organized, and solution advocate
• Team Player and willing to assist with helping other staff.
