Job summary

Keystone Engineering Inc. in Houston, TX, is seeking experienced E&I designers to join our Nassau Bay team. This full-time, on-site role requires understanding drafting standards and designing electrical and instrumentation systems according to project criteria.

You will prepare detailed drawings, supervise drafters, coordinate with lead designers, maintain project data books, and ensure quality and schedule alignment. Occasional site visits are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 5 - 10 years experience in related role.
• Understands facilities drawings, cable routing, details, cable tray routing, cable schedules, motor starter schematics, I/O list, panel design, wiring diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Understands drafting requirements for his/her discipline.
• Adapt to Client Drafting Standards and Specifications which apply to his/her discipline for assigned project.
• Understands the designs for any system within his/her discipline once design guidelines and system criteria have been established.
• Responsible for the constructability, operability, and maintainability of the design within his/her discipline for assigned project.
• Provides comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective technical input into design related to his/her discipline for assigned project.
• Responsible for the preparation of detailed design drawings within his/her discipline, in accordance with engineering design, required as project deliverables.
• Provides continual guidance to drafters within his/her discipline for assigned project.
• Communicates and coordinates with Lead Designer for respective discipline to promote smooth, accurate, and scheduled completion of deliverables.
• Maintains and keeps organizes a Job Data Book which contains all the pertinent information used during the design for his/her discipline for assigned project.
• Reviews drawings within his/her discipline for assigned project on a regular basis for completeness, overall quality, and adherence to standards.
• Ensures all drawings within his/her discipline for assigned project have been properly checked and backchecked.
• Prepares and/or directs the preparation of final drawing plots and copies for transmittal relative to all project deliverables.
• Possesses an awareness of project schedule and budget.
• Assists with Project Audits when required.
