Job summary

KnitWell Group in Times Square, NY, is seeking a Designer for Dresses and Sportswear to lead the design process from concept to prototype. You will translate trends into market-ready silhouettes, sketches and specs while maintaining brand identity.

Collaborate with Senior Designer, Product Development and Merchandising to select fabrics, ensure fit, and drive the seasonal collection forward. Expect cross-functional teamwork, proactive problem solving, and leadership in styling directions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design.
  • 4-6 years’ experience in Design, specifically in Dresses and/or Sportswear.
  • Ability to communicate stitch and construction ideas through sketches and specs.

Responsibilities

  • Research global and domestic markets to identify trends, fabrics and techniques.
  • Lead mood board creation, silhouette direction and styling for Dresses and Sportswear.
  • Design, sketch, spec and fit garments from concept to final prototype.
  • Collaborate with Senior Designer/Director and Product Development on fabric and quality direction.
  • Attend fittings and provide input on fit and construction across departments.

Is fully responsible for entire product design process to include market research, mood board creation, designing, sketching, specing and fit.
