Job summary

LOFT in Times Square, New York, NY is seeking an Associate Designer to drive jackets design, development and material selection through production.

You will collaborate with Design, Product Development, Technical Design and Merchandising, manage tech packs, and contribute to line reviews and seasonal direction.

Required 2-3 years in fashion design, strong color/print sense, CAD knowledge, and proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and Excel.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in Fashion Design.
  • Strong fashion, color and print sense.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized with capacity to anticipate change.
  • Knowledge of design specifications (ex. draping, pattern-making and CAD software).
  • Proficient in Photoshop, Excel and Illustrator.

Responsibilities

  • Variable amount of design, development and selection of materials, silhouettes, colors and patterns for the Jackets category.
  • Assist in fabric research, development and fabricates basic core items through production.
  • Serve as liaison between Design, Product Development, Technical Design and Merchandising.
  • Manage technical package process, including drawings, measurements and design detail specifications.
  • Create sketches and updates using Adobe Illustrator and hand sketching.
  • Coordinate line changes and communicate to cross-functional teams at Line Review.
