  • Prepare construction drawings, details, schedules, and diagrams.
  • Participate in field surveys and document existing building conditions.
  • Support design through construction documents and construction administration.
  • Assist with code research, accessibility analysis, and permit/agency submittals.

Job description

Pacific Rim Architects is seeking a Designer to join our Huntington Beach office and support a diverse portfolio of educational, public-sector, multifamily, and institutional projects throughout California and across the United States. This position offers broad exposure to architectural practice, with opportunities to participate in field investigation, design, construction documentation, consultant coordination, agency approvals, and construction administration while working directly with experienced project staff and firm principals. Current work includes community college and K-12 modernization and infrastructure projects throughout Southern California, accessibility improvements, civic and institutional projects, and LIHTC affordable housing projects in California and Florida.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare construction drawings, details, schedules, diagrams, and other project documentation.
  • Participate in field surveys and document existing building conditions.
  • Support projects from design through construction documents and construction administration
  • Assist with code research, accessibility analysis, and permit/agency submittals.
  • Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, civil, MEP, technology, and specialty consultants.
  • Assist with DSA and other agency review and approval processes.
  • Support construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, field observations, punch lists, and closeout.
  • Participate in internal coordination and quality-control reviews.
  • Work directly with Project Managers and senior project staff while developing increasing responsibility for project delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in Architecture or related field Professional experience in an architectural office preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required.
  • Proficiency in Revit or ArchiCAD strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Understanding of architectural construction documents, detailing, and building construction
  • Strong graphic, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize work, respond to direction, and contribute effectively to multiple project teams.
  • Interest in architecture, existing-building renovation, accessibility, and construction.
  • California public-sector or DSA experience desirable but not required.
  • Interest in pursuing architectural licensure encouraged.
SALARY | BENEFITS:

$60,000 – $75,000 annually
