Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with admissions staff, advisors, customer service representatives, and other Designated School Officials to keep student records up‑to‑date and accurately entered into SEVIS.
- Submit correction requests and data fixes for students and dependents to the SEVIS Help Desk and follow up when necessary.
- View and print reports within SEVIS.
- Update/edit records for students and dependents (FormI‑20), including financial, program, and personal information; transfer and register student records within SEVIS.
- Add and edit employment authorization, including requesting OPT and STEM.
- Review, approve, and process I‑20, CPT, STEM, and OPT applications.
- Draft, save, submit, and print records for students and dependents (FormI‑20).
- Communicate effectively with students in a timely manner.
- Provide thorough knowledge of the University, academic departments, programs, curricula, methods of program delivery, and expectations.
- Collaborate with academic departments and administration on a regular basis and build/maintain positive relationships.
- Provide prompt and efficient customer service through the Department of International Graduate Services and for the University.
- Learn and execute new information and data processes required to meet the needs of the Department of International Graduate Services.
- Represent the University at events and assist with on‑campus events for international students.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- U.S. citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
- Good people skills and the ability to communicate honestly and with tact for students who may not qualify for admissions.
- Outstanding telephone skills; polite, friendly manner when working with students.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Proficient in computer literacy and knowledgeable of Microsoft Office.
- Show initiative, adaptability, resourcefulness, dependability, and ability to take action.
- Customer service experience.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekend work and travel.
- Will require on‑campus travel for hosting events.
