Job summary

State of Missouri is seeking a Design Unit Architect within the OA-FMDC Design and Construction Team to develop architectural designs from concept through construction. You will serve as a technical resource, guiding projects to stay within budget while delivering high-quality design documents and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field.
• Registration as a professional architect in Missouri preferred.
• 3–8 years’ experience in architecture, design and/or related field.
• Efficient use of AutoCAD, RSMeans, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a wide variety of architectural design opportunities from start to finish, including roof replacement, interior office renovations, accessibility upgrades, exterior building improvements, historical renovations, and more.
• Prepare drawings and specifications for all projects, review the work product, resolve conflicts, and provide scheduling control of architectural project assignments.
• Complete field work verification of existing facility conditions and translate field data into CAD drawings.
• Create and edit technical specifications in CSI format and prepare construction cost estimates using RSMeans data.
• Participate in management of the construction phase by reviewing shop drawings and ensuring compliance; assist with designer certification of pay applications and change orders.
• Follow OA-FMDC health and safety protocols and OSHA standards.
