Job summary

Trane Technologies plc seeks a Design-to-Order (DTO) Engineer to lead and manage high-tech design projects for AI and data center markets. You will align with cross-functional teams and mentor junior members to deliver customized engineering solutions that meet customer needs and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 4+ years in product design, project leadership, or project management.
• Experience leading design-to-order or high-tech engineering projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design: create and refine unique designs to meet customer requirements; manage mech and elec changes.
• Schematics: read, mark up, and interpret schematics.
• Codes & compliance: knowledge of ETL and UL 60335-2-40 preferred; read and apply codes.
• Project schedule management: develop and manage project schedules; track tasks and determine critical path.
• Cross-functional coordination: coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure availability of parts and designs.
• Customer collaboration: work with DTO team and customer service to meet needs within time/cost targets.
• Documentation: update and create technical documents for shipment.
• Production support: participate in initial DTO builds.
• Mentorship: mentor less experienced team members.
• Travel: ~10% domestic
