Job summary

Optomi, in partnership with a leading telecommunications client, is seeking an Infrastructure Design Technician with strong circuit design, network topology, and hierarchical traffic experience to support internal network orders and circuit path design.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of telecom network or circuit design experience, be proficient with Layer 1 design, DWDM, SONET, TDM, Ethernet and IP, and have hands-on TIRKS knowledge.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of telecom network or circuit design experience.
• Strong Layer 1 circuit design and network topology experience.
• Experience tracing circuit paths and hierarchical traffic.
• Knowledge of DWDM, SONET, TDM, Ethernet, and IP.
• Experience with TIRKS or similar telecom inventory systems.
• Understanding of fiber optic network infrastructure.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and document Layer 1 circuit paths and network topology
• Investigate circuit designs and trace hierarchical traffic through the network
• Design and support reach-helping circuits and internal network orders
• Maintain accurate network inventory and circuit records
• Resolve circuit and inventory discrepancies
• Collaborate with Planning and Engineering on circuit provisioning
• Process orders within established SLAs and quality standards
• Support network engineering, installation, and testing activities
