Job summary

Payoneer is seeking a Design System Tech Lead to guide the evolution of its Design System into a modern, scalable frontend platform that enables AI-assisted development. This role emphasizes platform ownership over feature work and focuses on consistent, high-quality UI across the company.

You will own architecture, tokens, theming, accessibility, and performance while partnering with product, frontend, platform, and DevOps teams to improve adoption and governance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of frontend engineering experience.
• Strong experience building or leading a Design System, UI platform, or shared frontend infrastructure.
• Deep knowledge of React, component architecture, and scalable frontend patterns.
• Experience working in large, multi-team environments.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the modernization and technical direction of the Design System.
• Own component architecture, design tokens, theming, accessibility, and performance.
• Improve developer and designer adoption by reducing friction and improving documentation.
• Make the Design System machine-readable and tool-friendly for automation and AI-assisted development.
• Define quality standards, testing strategy, and governance for Design System changes.
• Work closely with product design, frontend teams, platform, and DevOps partners.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to frontend platform best practices.
