Working with the Director of Design Operations, you’ll ensure on-time delivery, quality assurance, and alignment with HOA regulations, while optimizing processes with CAD/3D technicians, contractors, and suppliers.

  • Proven experience overseeing operational activities within the design or construction industry.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in building relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate job walks, ensuring proper documentation and communication with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Track all projects from initial call to billing and ensure timely execution within budget.
  • Oversee design and planning of projects, site analysis, client consults, budgeting, and cost estimation while adhering to HOA guidelines.

Job description

The design operations manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing various operational activities within the CE Design Studio. Highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as design operations manager. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all operational activities related to our house design business in the local Arizona market. This includes job walks, design and planning of projects, ensuring quality assurance, and maintaining accuracy to schedule. You will work closely with the Director of Design Operations to ensure a high level of execution of house projects, on-time, at or below budget. High level of follow up and follow through.Plan and coordinate job walks, ensuring proper documentation and communication with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.Collaborate with the design team to develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.The role will involve effectively tracking all DSA projects from the initial call to billing. You will collaborate with the Design Studio, leadership, and accounting teams to ensure the smooth execution of each design project.Oversee the design and planning of projects and other LA functions such as site analysis, client consults, budgeting and cost estimation, ensuring adherence to HOA guidelines and regulations.Conduct regular quality assurance checks to verify the accuracy and completion of design deliverables.Monitor project schedules and take proactive measures to address any delays or issues that may impact timelines.Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to ensure the availability of necessary materials and resources.Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency and productivity within CE house business, to include CAD and 3D Technicians / Artists.Provide guidance and support to the team, promoting a positive work environment and fostering skill development.Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat businessRequirements:Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management or a related field.Proven experience in overseeing operational activities within the design or construction industry.Strong knowledge of regulations, and industry best practices.Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring accuracy and quality.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.Proficiency in Procore and CRM softwareKnowledge of local AZ building regulations and permitting processes is highly desirable.
