Job description

Sabah Mansoor Design is a boutique luxury residential interior design firm based in Menlo

Park, California. We specialize in high-end residential projects and design forever homes for a

small number of families each year, focusing on layered, deeply personal interiors built

around legacy and family story. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional design and a

seamless client experience, holding ourselves to the standard of the best practices in the

country. As our firm grows, we are looking for a highly organized and proactive Operations

Manager to take ownership of the "behind-the-scenes" business processes that keep our

studio running smoothly.

Role Summary

The Operations Manager is the administrative backbone of our firm. This is a newly created

role working directly with our Founder and Principal, where you will have visibility across the

whole business—people, projects, procurement, systems, financial performance, and client

experience. While the design and project management teams focus on creative concepts,

sourcing, and logistics, you will own the business administration, financial tracking, and

day-to-day studio operations. You will manage billing, monitor cash flow, optimize our

internal systems, and handle human resources basics. The ideal candidate is an emotionally

intelligent leader and hyper-organized problem solver who loves numbers, systems, and

turning administrative chaos into streamlined processes. For someone who enjoys building,

improving, and leading, this is a rare chance to shape the next chapter of an established

  • Liaise directly with our external bookkeeper/CPA to ensure accurate monthly financial reporting, payroll processing, and sales tax compliance.
  • Manage firm expenses, subscriptions, and vendor accounts.
Studio Operations & Administration
  • Run the day-to-day rhythm of the studio and develop, refine, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for internal firm management.
  • Administer and maintain the firm's accounting and project management software (e.g., Studio Designer, Google Workspace, Canva) and lead the adoption of new tools.
  • Oversee basic HR tasks, including onboarding/offboarding employees, managing benefits administration, processing payroll, and keeping the studio handbook and IT/tech support, and ensuring the office environment is organized and professional.
  • Act as the primary, trusted point of contact for non-design client inquiries, ensuring every client touchpoint reflects the standard of the work.
