Job summary

Design Within Reach, Inc. is seeking a Sales Assistant to support store operations, assist customers, and contribute to visual merchandising. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in sales support and client service within a design-focused retail environment.

You will report to the Assistant Manager and collaborate with sales and visual teams while learning product lines and design principles. This position includes benefits, commuter perks, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Interest in design, retail, or customer service.
• Previous retail or customer-facing experience is a plus, but not required.
• Comfortable using Mac OS, Microsoft Office, Gmail, and navigating websites.
• Willingness to learn systems like Salesforce and design software (we’ll train you!).
• Able to lift over 40 lbs and move items as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the team with day-to-day operations in the store.
• Gain hands-on experience in sales support, customer service, inventory, and visual merchandising.
• Report to the Assistant Manager and work closely with our sales and visual teams.
• Support order processing, delivery coordination, and client follow-up.
• Help maintain the store’s visual presentation and product displays.
