Job summary

MARS Energy Group is seeking a Design Specialist (PV & Battery Storage) to design and develop electrical drawing packages for solar projects. You will produce AutoCAD deliverables, support project schedules, and collaborate with engineering, management, and field teams.

Remote options may be considered with quarterly travel to Rocklin, CA or Wheeling, IL offices. The role requires 2+ years in renewable energy design, strong AutoCAD skills, and knowledge of PV/BESS systems and NEC standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, CAD Design, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in renewable energy system design or electrical drafting.
• Experience with commercial, industrial, or utility-scale solar projects.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and PV/BESS design principles.
• Knowledge of NEC requirements and electrical standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Design PV drawing packages in AutoCAD, including site layouts, single-line diagrams, electrical plans, and construction details.
• Develop and maintain AutoCAD detail libraries and standard installation details.
• Create and revise PV system drawings to meet project specs and codes.
• Review designs for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with standards.
• Coordinate design changes with engineering, project management, and field teams.
• Manage daily workloads and project timelines to ensure timely deliverables.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, permitting teams, and installation personnel.
