Job summary

MARS Energy Solutions is seeking a Project Engineer I to support the design and execution of solar PV, BESS, and EV infrastructure projects in California. The role balances design work with time in the field, under guidance from a Senior Project Engineer and the Project Manager.

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. You will use Helioscope, AutoCAD, and Procore to develop layouts, drawings, and submittals while coordinating with utilities and field teams to meet milestones.

Qualifications

• 0–4 years in solar PV or related field; entry-level acceptable.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering.
• ABET-accredited degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support early-stage design — preliminary PV layouts and stringing concepts in Helioscope and AutoCAD.
• Produce CAD design work including line-side tap detail drawings for PE-stamped sets.
• Support drawing package revisions through design and construction to an approved-for-construction set.
• Process submittals and RFIs through Procore; no material installed without an approved submittal.
• Support procurement accuracy and vendor coordination against the construction schedule.
• Provide technical support for utility interconnection and AHJ permitting, including PTO path.
• Support MOPs for outage and tie-in work.
• Conduct site visits to verify installation per IFC drawings and support crews at milestones.
• Maintain as-built redlines in Procore and document coverage.
• Own project closeout coordination to MARS O&M Ready standard.
• Assist Business Development with pre-contract due diligence and site assessments.
