Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. is seeking an Electrical PV Designer in San Jose, CA, with 4–6 years in electrical design for solar PV projects.

The role requires strong AutoCAD skills, NEC/NESC knowledge, and the ability to prepare detailed construction drawings for medium to large systems. The position reports to the Senior Engineering Manager and offers a pathway to PE certification, with remote work options and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering or similar BS degree required.
• Engineer-in-Training Certification (EIT) preferred.
• 4–6 years of experience in electrical design/contractor work, solar PV experience.
• Familiarity with NEC/NESC codes and field construction practices.
• Experience with PV power systems design at 1–500+ MW scale.

Responsibilities

• Design tasks assigned by Electrical Engineers or Supervisors.
• Create complete construction drawings for medium/low voltage systems and wiring diagrams.
• Prepare PV field DC/AC infra-structure calculations and sizing.
• Assemble drawings and coordinate delivery to project teams.
• Attend meetings with clients and respond to RFIs, AHJ comments.
• Follow QAQC processes through design and construction.
