Job summary

Design Within Reach, a MillerKnoll brand, seeks a Design Specialist in Chicago North Ave to blend design sensibility with consultative selling. You will engage clients, guide product selection, and build lasting relationships with the local design community.

You will report to the General Manager and contribute to achieving store sales goals while upholding the brand’s iconic modern design philosophy.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail sales or design consulting.
• Background in interior design, architecture, or related field preferred.
• Ability to assess client needs and build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales by delivering personalized design consultations and solutions that meet client needs.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, trade professionals, and the local design community.
• Meet and exceed sales performance goals, KPI targets, revenue, conversion, and client retention.
• Guide clients through product selection, space planning, and styling.
• Manage the full client lifecycle using CRM tools and outreach strategies.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and contribute to store aesthetics.
• Stay current on product knowledge, design trends, and industry developments.
• Conduct in-home consultations and off-site meetings with trade clients as needed.
