Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Design Sales Consultant to join our TEAM! As the Design Sales Consultant, you will provide interior design and product selection advice, product expertise, and thorough follow-up to facilitate customer experience and influence sales/purchasing decisions. Use the showroom as a selling tool to drive specifications, sales, and brand awareness.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide interior design advice and product expertise, facilitate tile and stone selection, and support project development, ensuring the completion of selection and sales for all customers. Utilize Auto-CAD Project Management where applicable.
  2. Log all client showroom visits, contact information, and detailed customer preferences and selections in CMT. Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members to follow leads, ensure tracking and follow-up, and close sales. Report sales closures monthly.
  3. Prospect for new business, focusing on Custom Builders and Residential Designers. Make outside sales calls as needed and follow up on leads. Log all customer interactions in CMT.
  4. Maintain showroom samples and merchandising, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining models and displays. Ship customer examples as needed to drive sales. Keep contact with suppliers and local vendors updated on design and product offerings, and ensure showroom merchandising standards are met, including new product launches.
  5. Plan and host showroom tours and industry events to drive sales. Attend outside trade events to develop industry relationships and increase brand awareness.
  6. Work evenings and weekends as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required
  1. A four-year degree in a related field, four years of related experience, or a combination of a two-year degree with two years of related experience.
  2. Skills in sales, customer engagement, interior design, sketching, reading blueprints, Auto-CAD (plus), color coordination, trends, customer buying habits, and creative thinking.
  3. Ability to approach unfamiliar situations with innovative and imaginative solutions, using creative skills to document and sell ideas to clients.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with customer management tools is a plus.
  5. Excellent communication skills—oral, written, listening, interpersonal—to effectively interact with customers, team members, and management, building positive relationships.

  1. Physical requirements include standing, using hands, reaching, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, sitting, climbing, or balancing. Ability to lift and move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment.
  2. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and temperature variations. Usually loud noise levels. Accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
