Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Design Reliability Engineer (Falcon & Dragon) to help ensure that flight hardware and operations meet design requirements and to drive improvements across vehicle designs.

The role involves cross-disciplinary collaboration, peer reviews, and developing verification approaches for new systems in a spaceflight context. Strong experience in aerospace hardware and FEA is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• 1+ years of hardware engineering experience.
• Master's degree in engineering preferred for advanced roles.

Responsibilities

• Ensure design process and criteria are followed for flight, launch, and recovery systems.
• Provide peer review and approval of hardware designs during reviews and test campaigns.
• Develop design criteria, requirements, and verification approaches for new systems.
• Set up processes to enable reliable operations of launch vehicles and spacecraft.
• Drive improvements to vehicle design with hardware teams.
• Review vehicle changes to ensure qualification of hardware and operations.
• Develop specialized design and analysis tools for other engineering groups.
