Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Build Reliability Engineer in Hawthorne, CA, to partner with design and manufacturing in creating quality plans for flight hardware and to drive reliability improvements across design, production, and test. You will apply Lean tools, perform root-cause analysis, and guide processes from concept through flight readiness in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

You will work on problem-solving, qualification activities, and continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics; 1+ years in manufacturing, quality or design engineering (internships allowed).
• Lean quality and process controls experience preferred.
• Strong problem solving and teamwork across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Create quality plans for flight hardware including key characteristics and prototyping considerations.
• Develop, implement and validate Lean test and inspection processes.
• Monitor product/process performance through ramp-up with quality tools.
• Lead regular build quality reviews and drive design-for-manufacturability improvements.
• Investigate production/test/flight failures to identify root causes and reduce risk.
• Support shop floor with Lean, autonomous production improvements and standard rework guides.
