Job summary

Contechs Consulting Limited in Troy, MI seeks a Design Release Engineer – Body Structures to lead design and release of body structural components for a fast-paced automotive program.

The role requires a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, 8+ years in body/structure design, and strong leadership to guide cross-functional teams and suppliers through NHSTA/FMVSS considerations and manufacturing constraints. This is a contract position with exposure to innovative EV platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of vehicle design experience in Body, Door, Platform.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of body system components and assemblies.
• Lead design teams through integration of sub-systems into body structure and ensure NHSTA/FMVSS compliance.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams and suppliers to meet project requirements.

They are looking for a Design Release Engineer – Body Structures to join their expanding team on a Contract basis. The role will be located in Troy, MI, USA.

Job Description:

• Our Client are looking for an energetic, organized, and experienced Body Systems Design/Release Engineer to join the ever-growing team.
• The DRE will be responsible for design and development of the body and related structures across the organization.

What you bring to the team:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 8+ years of vehicle design experience in the areas of Body, Door, Platform.
• Excellent communication and team building skills.
• Ability to lead design teams through integration of related sub-systems into body structure.
• Broad knowledge of NHSTA/FMVSS requirements related to body structure.
• Ability and Desire work in a fun and fast paced environment
