Job summary

LER TechForce, located in Troy, MI, seeks an energetic Body Structures Design Release Engineer to join our growing team. The DRE will design and develop body structures and related assemblies, coordinating with internal teams and suppliers to meet performance, cost, mass, and timing targets.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) and 8+ years of vehicle exterior/body design experience, with strong communication and leadership skills to drive

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of vehicle exterior body and door platforms design experience.
• Excellent communication and team-building abilities.
• Ability to lead design teams through integration of subsystems into body structures.
• Broad knowledge of NHSTA/FMVSS requirements related to body structure.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of body system components, exteriors and complete assemblies.
• Lead and drive the design release process for body structures.
• Develop objectives to meet project performance targets (cost, mass, timing, manufacturability).
• Collaborate with internal/external teams and suppliers to meet project requirements.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Our Client is looking for an energetic, organized, and experienced Body Systems Design/Release Engineer to join our growing team. The DRE will be responsible for design and development of the body and related structures across the organization.

Key responsibilities:

• Be an integral part of an energetic team that's challenging the status quo of vehicle design.
• Responsible for the design and development of body system components, exteriors and complete assemblies.
• Develop and implement functional objectives to meet project performance targets.
• Manage all aspects of body component development to meet project requirements including performance, cost, mass, timing, manufacturability, etc.
• Lead collaboration between internal/external teams and suppliers to meet all project requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 8+ years of vehicle design experience in the areas of Exteriors Body and Door Platforms.
• Excellent communication and team building skills.
• Ability to lead design teams through integration of related sub-systems into body structure.
• Broad knowledge of NHSTA/FMVSS requirements related to body structure.
• Ability and Desire work in a fun and fast paced environment.
