Job summary

FastTek Global in Troy, Michigan is seeking an energetic Body Systems Design/Release Engineer to join our growing engineering team. The DRE will lead design and development of body system components and assemblies, aligning with project targets.

You will collaborate across internal and external teams and suppliers, apply NHSTA/FMVSS knowledge, and guide cross-functional groups to meet performance, cost, mass, and timing goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 8+ years of vehicle design experience in Body, Door, Platform.
• Excellent communication and team building skills.
• Ability to lead design teams through integration of subsystems into body structure.
• Broad knowledge of NHSTA/FMVSS requirements related to body structure.
• Ability and Desire to work in a fun and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Be an integral part of an energetic team that's challenging the status quo of vehicle design.
• Responsible for the design and development of body system components and complete assemblies.
• Develop and implement functional objectives to meet project performance targets.
• Manage all aspects of body component development to meet project requirements including performance, cost, mass, timing, manufacturability, etc.
• Lead collaboration between internal/external teams and suppliers to meet all project requirements.
