Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks a design and construction lead to oversee site-specific scopes for new store and gas station projects and to coordinate construction drawings with internal teams and external consultants.

You will drive development timelines, manage budgets, and engage stakeholders to ensure designs meet program needs, codes, and project objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Engineering or Construction Field.
• 5+ years of experience in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or Design.

Responsibilities

• Provides design expertise in architectural and engineering disciplines to assist with the evaluation of new ideas.
• Engages a team of designers and consultants to provide architectural and engineering services to accomplish department deliverables.
• Collaborates with business partners to interpret conceptual ideas into design solutions.
• Manages estimating, design development, due-diligence and permitting for projects with partners.
• Develops and coordinates change with internal and external resources.
• Manages project budgets, updating and reporting with partners.
• Accounts for simplification in the design of new and existing concepts.
• Oversees overall project schedule development and management with annual prototype schedules.
• Engages with communities as appropriate for project success.
• Delivers timely RFI management and responses through construction completion.
• Communicates proactively on upcoming decisions/recommendations impacting scope or budget.

This position is responsible for managing site-specific aspects of new store and gas station scopes of work and construction drawings. Responsibilities include managing internal and external resources responsible for developing/maintaining the site-specific construction drawings, as well as managing all change that will impact the drawings.

What You'll be Doing:

• Provides design expertise in architectural and engineering disciplines to assist with the evaluation of new ideas
