Job summary

Meijer is seeking an experienced architectural/engineering leader to manage site-specific design across new store and gas station scopes. You will oversee internal and external resources for drawings, and track changes impacting drawings and project scope.

The role requires strong collaboration across teams, robust design deliverables, and proactive scheduling to align with prototypes and community engagement where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Engineering or Construction field.
• 5+ years of experience in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or Design.
• Ability to influence others and drive results.
• Customer service focus and solid judgment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides design expertise in architectural and engineering disciplines to assist with evaluating new ideas.
• Engages designers and consultants to provide architectural and engineering services to achieve deliverables.
• Collaborates with business partners to translate concepts into design solutions.
• Proactively manages estimating, design development, due-diligence & permitting of projects with partners.
• Develops and coordinates change with internal and external resources.
• Manages project budget creation, updating, closeout & reporting with partners.
• Accounts for simplification in the design of new and existing concepts.
• Responsible for overall project schedule development and management with annual prototype schedule.
• Engages with communities for project success.
• Delivers timely RFI management and responses during construction.
• Communicates upcoming decisions impacting scope and/or budget.

This position is responsible for managing site-specific aspects of new store and gas station scopes of work and construction drawings. Responsibilities include managing internal and external resources responsible for developing/maintaining the site-specific construction drawings, as well as managing all change that will impact the drawings.

What You'll be Doing:

• Provides design expertise in architectural and engineering disciplines to assist with the evaluation of new ideas
• Engages a team of designers and consultants to provide architectural and engineering services to accomplish department deliverables
• Collaborates with business partners throughout the company to interpret the conceptual ideas into design solutions
• Proactively manages estimating, design development, due-diligence & permitting of projects in partnership with business partners
• Develops and coordinates change with internal and external resources
• Manages project budget creation, updating, closeout & reporting in partnership with business partners
