Job summary

FASTSIGNS Lincolnwood is seeking a Graphic Design and Production Specialist to join our team. The role involves handling design requests from the Sales team, creating signs and graphics, preparing files for output, and managing production on plotters and printers.

Prior sign design and Illustrator experience are highly valued, with opportunities for installations and vendor coordination. The position offers competitive pay, paid vacation and holidays, a team bonus, and a Monday–Friday schedule

Qualifications

• 1+ year of sign and graphics design experience preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator.

Responsibilities

• Read digital work orders from the Sales team and create designs based on notes and files.
• Create signs and graphics from scratch with varying levels of direction.
• Prepare customer-provided files for output and create production files for printers and routers.
• Run plotters and printers and manage production flow to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate with Sales to clarify design questions and move jobs through the workflow.
• Assist with setup for sub-contract vendors and participate in installations when needed.

Duties Include

• Reading digital work orders submitted by the Sales team and creating designs based on the notes and files provided.
• Creating signs and graphics from scratch with anything from limited creative direction to very detailed customer-provided notes.
• Working with customer-provided files to prepare them for output.
• Creating output files to use with the printers, plotters, and/or router.
• Running the plotters and printers.
• Alerting the Manager to future material needs by recording materials on a digital materials order sheet.
• Sending proofs to clients for review.
• Moving jobs through a digital workflow at the appropriate times to make sure projects progress in a timely manner.
• Meeting with the Sales Team to discuss questions regarding design work.
• Setting up production files for sub-contract vendors.
• Preparation, production, and assembly of signs.
• Some installations.
• Maintaining and organizing the Design and Production area.

Experience

• At least 1 year of sign and graphics design experience preferred.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator.
• Prior sign fabrication experience is a bonus!
• Experience with designing for digital signage is a bonus!

Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
