Job summary

FASTSIGNS Lincolnwood is seeking a Graphic Design and Production Specialist to transform customer notes into professional signs and graphics, from concept to output. You will operate printers/plotters, manage the digital workflow, and collaborate with the Sales Team to ensure timely progress.

This role requires at least 1 year in sign/graphics design and Illustrator proficiency, with sign fabrication and digital signage design as bonuses.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of sign and graphics design experience preferred.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator.
• Prior sign fabrication experience is a bonus.
• Experience with designing for digital signage is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and create designs from notes and files provided.
• Create signs and graphics from scratch with varying direction.
• Prepare client files for output and create output files for printers/plotters/routers.
• Run plotters and printers and alert on material needs.
• Send proofs to clients and move jobs through the workflow to progress.
• Meet with sales to discuss design questions and setup production files for vendors.
• Produce, assemble signs and assist with some installations.

For over 30 years, FASTSIGNS of Lincolnwood has been a part of the local community and we're looking for someone to join our team as our Graphic Design and Production Specialist.

Duties Include

• Reading digital work orders submitted by the Sales team and creating designs based on the notes and files provided.
• Creating signs and graphics from scratch with anything from limited creative direction to very detailed customer-provided notes.
• Working with customer-provided files to prepare them for output.
• Creating output files to use with the printers, plotters, and/or router.
• Running the plotters and printers.
• Alerting the Manager to future material needs by recording materials on a digital materials order sheet.
• Sending proofs to clients for review.
• Moving jobs through a digital workflow at the appropriate times to make sure projects progress in a timely manner.
• Meeting with the Sales Team to discuss questions regarding design work.
• Setting up production files for sub-contract vendors.
• Preparation, production, and assembly of signs.
• Some installations.
• Maintaining and organizing the Design and Production area.

Experience

• At least 1 year of sign and graphics design experience preferred.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator.
• Prior sign fabrication experience is a bonus!
• Experience with designing for digital signage is a bonus!

Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
