Job summary

NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC seeks a Design Production Director within the Planning, Design and Construction Directorate to lead facilities engineering projects across the portfolio. You will evaluate workload, priorities, and deadlines to schedule and assign work, while serving as a principal professional and technical advisor on engineering services and management.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• Resume demonstrates at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• Specialized experience includes developing designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for engineering projects of various sizes and complexity.
• Experience reviewing designs by consultants and in-house staff for accuracy, compliance, and safety; supervising complex projects in facilities planning, design, construction, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate workload, critical project priorities, and deadlines to schedule and assign the work.
• Serve as a principal professional and technical advisor for facilities engineering services and management.
• Analyze the production and validate metrics based on actual production and expenses.
• Review concept designs and develop program requirements for full designs of Design Bid Build and Design Build RFPS.
• Ensure all facilities engineering services are effective, efficient, and accomplished within performance criteria.
• Capture lessons learned and develop process improvements.
• Track accruals and budget allocation expenditures against projections to ensure appropriate acquisition strategies are met.
• Provide advice and recommendations concerning architectural and engineering methods and systems to develop and coordinate projects for design, repair, rehabilitation, installation, or demolition.
