Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Design Phase Manager I to guide design teams and ensure the owner’s vision is translated into robust design solutions and construction parameters. You will interact with staff at all levels, adapt in a dynamic environment, and manage one or two projects while maintaining high standards of communication and attention to detail.

You will lead design teams, coordinate with owners, oversee cost documentation and scheduling, and ensure regulatory and risk management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating, or equivalent field.
• Six years of relevant experience.
• Strong teamwork, leadership, communication, problem-solving and detail orientation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, project, and web applications at an intermediate level.
• Positive, professional attitude and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design process and define project expectations with owners.
• Coordinate design-build designer selection and contracting.
• Develop and present project proposals.
• Create detailed design phase and baseline construction schedules.
• Conduct detailed construction planning including subcontractor selections.
