Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Design Phase Engineer I/II to join our Power Delivery Solutions group to support project leadership during the design phase, focusing on customer experience, financial performance, schedule, estimating, design and planning for smooth transitions to construction operations.

You will interact with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment and should bring strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Manager, Estimating, or equivalent field.
• Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and handle multiple project tasks.
• Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office, Project, and web applications skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the project team in achieving scope and budget alignment, schedule alignment, an integrated team experience, construction readiness, and financial performance.
• Assist with establishing and managing project budget and scope expectations, budget trending logs, and communications/resources.
• Create and manage project schedules and milestones, hold team members accountable.
• Assist in regulatory approvals and permitting process.
• Identify design concerns and elevate to resolution.
• Provide recommendations to ensure constructability and logistics in project design.
