Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Design Phase Engineer I or II to translate owner's project expectations into design drawings, specifications, and schedules while providing financial cost documentation. The role requires strong communication across levels in a dynamic environment.

Candidates should be adaptable, inventive, and collaborative, with a focus on constructability, BIM/VDC integration, and coordinating with the project team to ensure budget and schedule goals are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, or related field.
• Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Detail orientation and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support the project team in achieving scope and budget alignment, schedule alignment, and client satisfaction.
• Assist with establishing and managing project budget and scope expectations and related communications.
• Create and manage project schedules and key milestones, ensuring team accountability.
• Assist in regulatory approvals and permitting processes.
• Identify design/technical concerns and elevate for resolution as needed.
• Coordinate with the construction team to integrate BIM/VDC modeling into design phases.
