Job summary

Mott MacDonald Group is seeking a Design Manager in the U.S. to lead multidisciplinary design delivery on major projects. You will ensure technical integrity, coordinate teams across disciplines, and uphold contract requirements.

The role reports to the Project Manager or Principal, collaborating with Discipline Leads to drive design reviews, cost control, and schedule alignment in a hybrid office-based setting geared towards collaboration and project success.

Responsibilities

• Preparing the design fee estimate and preliminary design schedule for the proposal phase.
• Acting as the single accountable design authority for technical coherence across disciplines.
• Providing the design team with contract materials to deliver within budget and schedule.
• Ensuring the design meets the project aims, objectives and defined benefits.
• Coordinating interfaces and accountability for interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Supporting WBS/CBS/OBS development to align design with milestones.
• Monitoring the design budget and identifying variances.
• Leading design reviews and ensuring quality processes and peer reviews.
