Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Bridge Engineer in our Westwood, MA office to lead bridge projects within our transportation and infrastructure teams. You will design, assess, and manage rehabilitation and replacement efforts while collaborating with engineers and clients to deliver solutions that meet safety, quality, and schedule goals.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical excellence, and adherence to DOT standards with a hybrid in-office culture requiring at least three days per week onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
• 5+ years of bridge design and project management experience.
• Experience with highway/rail bridge rehabilitation or replacement is a plus.
• Proficiency with Open Bridge/Open Roads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage bridge projects from inception to closeout.
• Oversee design development, contract documents, and technical writing.
• Prepare and modify reports, specs, plans, and studies.
• Evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques and criteria.
• Lead client and contractor meetings with the project team.
• Review shop drawings and prepare cost estimates.
• Contribute to proposals and support project financials.
