Job summary

SharkNinja, based in Needham, Massachusetts, is seeking a Design Manager to lead the mechanical engineering team behind a new generation of home environment products. This hands-on leadership role covers concept through mass production and requires managing engineers across Boston, China, and Europe.

You will own technical direction, run DFMEA, tolerance analysis, and DFMA reviews, and collaborate with Product Management, Industrial Design, Operations, Sourcing and Quality.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of mechanical or product design engineering experience.
• Appliance design background strongly preferred.
• 2+ years managing engineers.
• Hands-on CAD in SolidWorks or Creo at a high level.
• Experience with DFMEA, tolerance analysis, and DFM.
• Injection-molded plastic part design and tooling experience.

Responsibilities

• Own design execution from concept through production: CAD, prototyping, DFMEA, tolerance analysis, tooling design, DFM reviews, and validation testing.
• Design and develop mechanisms, thinking through movement, wear, failure modes, and design around them.
• Build and test prototypes, iterate, and guide the team in the same approach.
• Translate requirements and customer feedback into engineering solutions with clear paths forward.
• Lead DFM and DFA reviews with manufacturing partners, primarily in China; identify risk early and drive decisions.
• Perform DFMEA and tolerance stack-ups to identify failure modes and margins.
• Manage 2-4 direct reports, hire and develop team members, and set high standards.
• Oversee multiple programs across stages of development and maintain clear priorities.
• Communicate progress, risk, and decisions to executive leadership; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Travel internationally to manufacturing and development partners in Asia and Europe.
