Job summary

Constellium in Ravenswood, WV seeks a design engineering leader to direct all aspects of design for capital and expense projects, enhancing worker safety, plant productivity, equipment reliability, and throughput with focus on EHS, quality, risk, cost and schedule.

Provide design support enabling project executions and installations impacting operational efficiency, asset availability and CAPEX. This role spans multiple facility areas with field requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related field is required.
• 5+ years of field experience preferred.
• Proficient in design and drafting methods, symbols, and standards.
• CAD 2D is required, 3D is preferred.
• Able to adapt to a new industrial environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to adapt style to audience.
• Ability to lead and/or take direction in a team.
• Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the engineering drawing system, ensuring new and revised drawings are properly indexed.
• Oversee the design process from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Provide field assistance for development and installation of engineering projects.
• Minimize project costs for design and installation through design clarifications.
• Maintain efficient CAD skills and recommend new software changes, including 2D, 3D and automatic drawing generation methods.
• Ensure efficiency in engineering drawing development by the design team.
• Lead design reviews and provide input during design phases.
• Provide periodic discipline-specific guidance and support for plant maintenance and operations.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members.
