Job summary

STV in New York City is seeking a Senior Designer who will assume the Design Manager role on Buildings projects. You will lead programming, space planning, and conceptual design, coordinating with a Project Manager and Project Architect to drive documentation and construction administration.

You will mentor staff, uphold STV’s design standards, and manage interdisciplinary coordination with consultants. The role requires strong leadership and NYC-relevant code knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture; NCARB toward licensure is expected within 12 months.
• 12+ years of progressive professional experience on complex building projects with design leadership.
• Fluency in managing teams in Revit workflows; strong proficiency with Bluebeam and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team through programming, space planning, and conceptual design.
• Oversee design development and technical documentation with Project Architect.
• Own the detailed design schedule and ensure milestones are met.
• Host internal coordination meetings and direct consultant coordination and deliverables.
• Serve as the client’s day‑to‑day point of contact and lead project meetings.
• Mentor staff on assigned projects and promote collaboration and accountability.
