Job summary

Spencer Ogden is seeking a Lead Data Center Design Manager in Dallas, TX to lead the design and delivery of multiple data center fit-out and white-space projects from design through construction and handover. This role demands strong leadership of architectural, MEP and LV/IT design across projects and close collaboration with A/E consultants, contractors and internal teams.

You will oversee design reviews, budgets, schedules, and procurement support, travel up to 30%, and ensure commissioning

Qualifications

• Experience in data center / mission-critical design and delivery.
• Strong knowledge of MEP and LV/IT systems.
• Proven ability to manage consultants, contractors and stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of design, construction and commissioning processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural, MEP and LV/IT design across multiple data center projects.
• Serve as key design contact for A/E consultants, contractors and vendors.
• Lead design reviews, Basis of Design, sequences of operations, commissioning plans and testing scripts.
• Manage design deviations, budgets, schedules, RFPs, consultants and vendors.
• Review OFCI equipment submittals and support procurement and construction teams.
• Conduct site visits to ensure designs are implemented correctly and resolve design issues.
• Track scope, cost, schedule, risks and project progress through handover.
• Support value engineering and innovative data center design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Architectural, MEP and LV/IT design across multiple data center projects.
• Act as the key design contact for A/E consultants, contractors, vendors and internal teams.
• Lead design reviews, page-turns, Basis of Design, Sequence of Operations, commissioning plans and testing scripts.
• Manage design deviations, budgets, schedules, RFPs, consultants and vendors.
• Review OFCI equipment submittals and support procurement and construction teams.
• Conduct site visits to ensure designs are implemented correctly and resolve design issues.
• Track scope, cost, schedule, risks and project progress through handover.

Requirements

• Proven data center / mission-critical design and delivery experience.
• Strong MEP and LV/IT knowledge.
• Experience managing consultants, contractors and technical stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of design, construction and commissioning.
