Data Center Engineering Design Project Manager - Dallas TX / Remote / Nationwide

Responsibilities

• Interface with clients to define project requirements, establish project work plans and deadlines.
• Manage client relationship and expectations through face-to-face, phone, and email communication.
• Manage multiple projects, champion design reports, produce engineering proposals (RFPs), facilitate client meetings and presentations.
• Track progress of projects against goals, objectives, timelines and budgets.
• Generate reports, track project costs and financial forecasts related to project status.
• Monitor expenses to stay within prescribed budget.
• Manage project team with direction, monitoring effectiveness and leadership.
• Work closely with functional areas, project contractors, internal and external team, customers and suppliers.
• Understand and follow company policies and procedures.
• Follow company strategy for market penetration.
• Manage business development for new and future projects in the area.
• Lead a team of engineers and technical staff.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience managing Data Centers/Critical Facilities Design Projects.
• Familiar with building systems design process for data center and mission-critical projects.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Architecture (required).
• P.E. license or AIA (or working toward it).
• PMP certification a plus.
• Experience managing engineering projects in the consulting engineering industry, A/E, MEP arena.
• Project management experience in the consulting engineering industry.
• Client relationship and business development experience (creating RFPs).
• Effective communicator: emails, phone, meetings; strong organizational, communication and reporting skills.
• Computer savvy with Microsoft Project, Excel; ability to create complex reports and forecast modeling.
• Prior military experience (or veterans) in Electrical/Mechanical appreciated.
