Job summary

Spencer Ogden is seeking an experienced Data Center Design Manager to lead the design and delivery of high-density data center fit-out projects, focusing on MEP, LV/IT, cooling, and rack-level infrastructure.

You will manage external design consultants and vendors, coordinate internal stakeholders, review OFCI equipment packages, and shepherd projects from shell to full data hall fit-out and construction delivery, with a hybrid office schedule in the Dallas area.

Qualifications

• Strong background in data center facilities, engineering, or design.
• Experience with technology and rack-level design.
• Proven experience taking projects from shell/four walls through data hall fit-out.
• Electrical engineering background preferred.
• Strong understanding of cooling, power distribution, and LV/IT infrastructure.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Design Manager to lead the design and delivery of high-density data center fit-out projects, with a strong focus on white space, MEP, LV/IT, and rack-level infrastructure.

The role will manage external design consultants and vendors, coordinate internal technical stakeholders, review design packages and OFCI equipment, and support projects from initial shell/four walls through full data hall fit-out and construction delivery.

• Locations: NY/NJ, Washington, California, or Dallas
• Hybrid: 2–3 days per week in the office
• Travel: approximately 4 days per month
• Strong background in data center facilities, engineering, or design
• Experience with technology and rack-level design
• Proven experience taking projects from shell/four walls through data hall fit-out
• Electrical engineering background preferred
• Strong understanding of cooling, power distribution, and LV/IT infrastructure
• Experience with high-density GPU environments, ideally 30kW+ per rack
• Experience managing OFCI equipment, vendors, A/E firms, and design consultants
• Background from either an engineering consultancy or hyperscaler environment
• Relevant technical or engineering education

The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing multiple complex projects, working across technical and commercial teams, and ensuring designs are practical, scalable, cost-effective, and ready for construction.
