Job summary

PROENERGY is seeking a highly skilled Design Liaison Engineer to join our team in Houston. You will bridge the gap between design and manufacturing, ensuring concepts are accurately implemented on the shop floor and meet technical specs and production capabilities.

You will troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues, collaborate with engineering and production teams, and help deliver quality products through robust documentation and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in a liaison engineering role or design engineering in a manufacturing or shop floor environment.
• Strong understanding of design principles, manufacturing processes, and product lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo or similar).
• Ability to interpret and troubleshoot complex technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design Collaboration: Work closely with design engineers to ensure that designs are align with shop capabilities, recommending modifications or optimizations where necessary.
• Communication: Act as the primary liaison between the design team and the production floor, ensuring that both teams understand the technical requirements and constraints.
• Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Resolve design-related issues during the manufacturing process by collaborating with engineering and shop floor teams.
• Manufacturing Support: Provide technical support to the shop floor and production teams, ensuring that designs are executed according to specifications, quality standards, and schedules.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide feedback for design modifications.
• Technical Documentation: Review and assist with creating detailed technical documents and work orders.
• Quality Control: Ensure final product aligns with design specifications and meets quality/regulatory standards.
• Training and Support: Provide training to the production team on new design features and manufacturing techniques.
• Cost Control: Help ensure design decisions are cost-effective.
