Job summary

UDig LLC. invites you to join an 8-week Summer Internship Program in design consulting, giving you real client engagements from day one and hands-on experience with live projects.

You will wireframe, prototype, conduct user research, and collaborate with engineers to build reusable design systems. A portfolio and knowledge of Figma, plus strong communication skills, are essential for a successful internship in a hybrid setting based in Nashville or Richmond.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a design-related field.
• Portfolio showing user-centered design process is required.
• Working knowledge of UI/UX principles, information architecture, responsive design, and accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to live client design work - wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
• Support user research and usability testing; prepare sessions, synthesize findings, and translate into recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs are buildable and maintain design systems.
• Present design rationale to teams and stakeholders; iterate on feedback.
• Research emerging technologies and best practices to apply academically in a professional setting.

WhatYou ’ llBring:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Graphic or Visual Design, UX Research, Service Design, or a related design field
• A portfolio — coursework, personal, or professional — that shows your user-centered design process, not just finished screens.
• Working knowledge of Figma (or a comparable design tool) and core UI/UX principles, including information architecture, responsive design, and accessibility.
• A strong passion for technology consulting and a proactive, ownership-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the enthusiasm to ask questions and learn rapidly.
• Ability to work full-time for the duration of the8-week summer program (6/7-7/30)in a hybrid model based out of one of our hub locations (Nashville or Richmond).
