Job summary

KnowIt Training is seeking a Design Engineering Manager to lead transformer design and development efforts onsite in Athens, GA. You will manage engineering teams and projects, ensuring alignment with quality, cost, and schedule goals while mentoring junior managers and engineers.

The role requires strong knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and modern manufacturing processes, with experience in budgeting and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field (MBA preferred).
• 8+ years of engineering experience with leadership of teams and projects.
• Proven ability to manage teams and lead projects from concept to production.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and modern manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering teams to design and develop transformers or related components, meeting quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Oversee project execution from concept to production, aligning with business goals and customer specs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain to integrate designs into production.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE, IEC, CSA and regulatory requirements throughout development.
• Mentor and develop junior managers and engineers, guiding career growth.
• Monitor and manage team performance, aligning KPIs with business objectives.
