Job summary

UCT is seeking a Design Engineering Manager in Carrollton, TX to lead a team responsible for production process equipment, fixtures, tooling, workstations, and related mechanical design support across manufacturing operations.

You will provide technical leadership for fixture design, tooling, and process equipment requirements, partnering with Process Engineering, Operations, Quality, Safety, and Customer Engineering to improve equipment performance, reduce cost, and enable new product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum five years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, semiconductor, or process equipment environment.
• Experience leading engineers, technicians, cross-functional project teams, or technical personnel is strongly preferred.
• Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or similar continuous improvement certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads design engineering team by establishing priorities, assigning work, and scheduling projects.
• Ensures safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in design work.
• Develops and maintains equipment specifications, drawings, layouts, and technical documentation.
• Coordinates with Process Engineering, Operations, Quality, Customer Service, Safety, Environmental, and other internal teams.
• Drives cost reduction, productivity improvements, and reliability in equipment design.
