Job summary

Amphenol TPC Wire & Cable is seeking a Design Engineer Manager to lead the design engineering team in developing connectorized solutions with focus on manufacturability and reliability. You will manage performance, partner with Product Management, Operations, Application Engineering, and Sourcing to deliver high-quality products to market.

The role requires leadership across design, validation, and documentation, with accountability for project timelines, cost targets, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive engineering experience in product design.
• At least 3 years in technical leadership or people management.
• Experience leading design projects from concept to launch in manufacturing.
• Strong organizational, project management, and technical writing skills.
• Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD/CAM tools and familiarity with PDM/PLM and ERP systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.
• Willingness to travel to supplier and customer sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and day-to-day management for the Design Engineering team.
• Set technical direction and design standards for new product development and sustaining engineering.
• Oversee design and development focused on connectorized solutions, production capabilities, and compliance.
• Translate market needs into product requirements and engineering priorities.
• Collaborate with Sourcing, Operations, Quality, and Suppliers to optimize designs for cost and manufacturability.
• Review cost estimates, concepts, and proposals; guide risk mitigation decisions.
• Champion engineering process improvements and change control.
• Support dual-sourcing and value-engineering by evaluating alternate materials and suppliers.
