Job summary

SMW Autoblok Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Design Engineer to support the design and development of custom and standard workholding solutions for the manufacturing industry. This role emphasizes creating detailed drawings and assemblies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering robust, manufacturable designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of mechanical design experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with workholding tooling/fixturing preferred.
• Experience using SolidWorks for parts/assemblies/drawings.
• Experience with PDM/ERP/Cad-Link preferred.
• Experience with FEA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, assemblies, and tooling using SolidWorks.
• Create and maintain detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Develop custom workholding solutions for customer applications.
• Interpret customer prints and specifications.
• Apply GD&T for manufacturability and inspection.
• Perform engineering calculations and FEA when required.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Sales, and Production teams to optimize product performance.
• Maintain engineering documentation in the PDM system.
• Support project execution and manufacturing workflows.
• Troubleshoot design-related manufacturing issues.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and product development.
