Job summary

Amazon seeks a Design Engineer for New Technology Integration to own maintainability and serviceability design across Fulfillment Centers. You will engage customers to document requirements, drive solutions, and manage programs with a focus on standards, scalability, and supportability.

The role requires cross‑functional collaboration, site travel for audits, and leadership in continuous improvement of design processes within the RME NTI team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial, operations, manufacturing, or project engineer experience.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or technology, or 4+ years of Amazon RME BB/3P experience.
• Experience in material handling equipment (MHE) or automation environments or reliability/maintenance environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead optimization of mechanical system designs within budget, coordinating across disciplines and managing trade-offs.
• Direct 3D modeling efforts and clash detection management across project portfolio.
• Review and approve 2D installation layout drawings.
• Validate spatial analysis of clearance envelopes, egress pathways, etc. across projects.
• Ensure maintenance and safety standards are applied consistently across all projects.
• Ensure all engineering decisions are properly documented through design plans, installation files, and engineering instructions.
• Travel to sites as needed to conduct audits and support teams.
• Develop engineering team capabilities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
