Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Design Engineer for New Technology Introduction in Global RME. You will own design for maintainability and serviceability of new Fulfillment Centers, engaging stakeholders to document requirements and drive solutions that meet timelines and standards.

Expect travel to fulfillments centers for audits and improvements, collaborating across disciplines. The role emphasizes 3D modeling, layout reviews, and robust documentation to support scalable, safe, and maintainable

Qualifications

5+ years of directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects.
3+ years in material handling equipment or automation environments.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or 6+ years Amazon RME experience.

Responsibilities

Lead optimization of mechanical system designs within budget and across disciplines.
Direct 3D modeling efforts and clash detection management across projects.
Review and approve 2D installation layout drawings.
Validate spatial analysis of clearance envelopes and egress pathways.
Provide direction on engineering of custom parts for non-standard design.
Ensure maintenance and safety standards are applied consistently.
Document engineering decisions with design plans and installation files.
Travel to sites to conduct audits, resolve issues, and support teams.
Develop engineering team capabilities and drive continuous improvement.
