Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an experienced automotive engineer to help advance commercial vehicle development. You will work across concept to production, defining requirements and creating robust designs using CATIA tools.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of automotive experience, strong GD&T and tolerance analysis, and a collaborative mindset to coordinate with suppliers and internal teams. This role offers mentorship and growth within a federal contractor environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years automotive/commercial vehicle engineering experience.
• 2+ years CAD experience with CATIA 3Dx/3DEXPERIENCE/V5.
• GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• DFMA and serviceability principles.
• Problem-solving and root cause analysis.
• Effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Define component and system engineering requirements.
• Create and develop engineering designs and concepts.
• Perform packaging, tolerance, and feasibility studies.
• Develop CAD models, drawings, and engineering releases.
• Support CAE, prototype builds, testing, Sourcing and validation activities.
• Resolve design, manufacturing, quality, and launch issues.
• Collaborate with Internal cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Manage engineering changes and documentation.
• Proven background in concept-to-production vehicle development and problem-solving

Domain Specific Skills:

• Experience with cargo doors, roller doors, and automated closure systems.
• Ability to define interfaces for actuation, controls, sensing, and surrounding vehicle systems.

Required Skills/Experience:

• 5y+ years of automotive/commerical vehicle engineering experience within relevant domain.
• 2y+ CAD experience (CATIA 3Dx, 3D Expereince or V5).

• DFMA & Serviceability principles.
• Problem-solving and root cause analysis.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
