Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an experienced automotive systems engineer in Michigan to drive component and system requirements, develop CAD-based designs, and ensure robust packaging for electrical power and data distribution within commercial vehicle programs.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers, perform feasibility studies, and manage engineering changes from concept to production.

Qualifications

• 5y+ years of automotive/commercial vehicle engineering experience in the relevant domain.
• 2y+ CAD routing experience with CATIA 3Dx, 3D Experience or V5.
• GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• DFMA and serviceability principles.
• Problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Define component and system engineering requirements.
• Create and develop engineering designs and concepts.
• Perform packaging, tolerance, and feasibility studies.
• Develop CAD models, drawings, and engineering releases.
• Support CAE, prototype builds, testing, sourcing and validation activities.
• Resolve design, manufacturing, quality, and launch issues.
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Manage engineering changes and documentation.
• Proven background in concept-to-production vehicle development and problem-solving.
